30 by 30 Goal

Maybe a year or even two years ago, someone told me about an individual that they knew who has this goal: to visit 30 countries before they turn 30. When I heard about that, not only did it intrigue me, but I automatically knew that this is a goal I also wanted for myself.

I love travelling. I love getting all packed up, going to the airport, and getting that giddy feeling that you’re going to be going somewhere else for a couple of days or weeks or whatnot. I love getting to experience a new place/atmosphere, seeing new things, meeting new people, learning and immersing myself in a new culture, and of course trying new food. I thank (and blame) my parents for this passion of mine. I’m super blessed that even when I was very little, they would take me around to new places and let me experience all these new cultures. I think my parents wanted me to see and experience the beauty that God has made and also His love through different people that we met. I honestly believe that travelling at a young age helped in someway shaped me to be the person I am today. And really, I hope I can continue to do so and take my own kids around the world, whenever that time comes.

So this 30 by 30 goal just seemed to fit for me! It would be a blessing and wonderful opportunity if I would be able to visit 30 countries before I’m 30. Where do I stand you might ask? Well I’m about to list the countries that I have visited, so that you can keep me accountable as I add on to the list!

List of Places Visited:

  • United States
  • Canada
  • Mexico
  • Peru
  • United Kingdom
  • France
  • Germany
  • Austria
  • Czech Republic
  • Italy
  • Vatican City
  • Greece
  • Turkey
  • Virgin Islands
  • Indonesia
  • Malaysia
  • Singapore
  • China
  • South Korea
  • Taiwan

Now as I am compiling this list, with the help of google, it just reminded me of how gigantic this world is and how many places I’ve not visited yet! The count right now is at 20 and I am turning 25 this year. That means, I have 10 more countries to visit over a 5 year time span!

Well, I’m super excited that I get the chance to travel to South East Asia this summer! If you haven’t heard about the volunteer portion of my trip, please check out the post prior to this one! After that volunteer portion, I will also be going around and travelling to other countries that I’ve never visited before! So I’ll be visiting the countries below:

  1. China
  2. Vietnam
  3. Thailand
  4. Cambodia
  5. Malaysia

Not only that, but later this summer, I will also be going on an adventure with my sister and a couple of friends to CUBA! So that means in total, (deducting China and Malaysia because they were on the first list), I will be adding a total of 4 countries to the list!!! That puts me at 24 countries by the end of the summer 🙂

I am super excited, that means I only need to visit 6 more countries over the span of 5 years! What do you think? Doable?
